CrimsonLogic earns highest level international software quality recognition

Solutions provider's India offshore development centre achieves Level 5 CMM CBA IPI; joins elite group of qualifying software organisations

SINGAPORE, 9 July 2004 - Leading IT solutions provider CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd today announced that its India offshore development centre has achieved Level 5, the highest possible, on the rigorous Capability Maturity Model (CMM) Based Appraisal for Internal Process Improvement (CBA-IPI) assessment. This places CrimsonLogic in an elite group of software developers worldwide who have achieved this rare distinction.

Developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University, the CMM is a globally recognised model for quality process improvement and has become synonymous with good quality software. The CMM helps organisations to consistently attain quantitative business targets like cost, real-time deadlines, quality of service (QoS) requirements.

CrimsonLogic CEO, Mr. Mathivanan said, “Delivering business value is the ultimate goal of application outsourcing and yet for many customers, it often involves a certain leap of faith. The CMM is a highly respected industry benchmark for measuring the quality of any outsourced engagement or service provider. This Level 5 recognition underscores our ability to deliver projects to customers consistently on time, within budget and to desired quality.”

A Level 5 distinction is the highest maturity level awarded to organisations who show continued and measurable software process improvement in three key areas - defect prevention, technology change management and process change management. These organisations must also demonstrate commitment to piloting innovative ideas and technologies.

CrimsonLogic India has approximately 120 staff and was set up in 2001 at a targetted investment of approximately S$5 million. The wholly-owned software lab works with its headquarters in Singapore to develop integrated e-solutions for key business sectors like trade and logistics, healthcare, government and legal, both in Singapore and elsewhere. The lab in Bangalore is an important training hub for programmers and technologies in the region. CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd in Singapore itself qualified for Level 3 earlier in January and currently plans to be assessed for Level 5 as well.

Tumu Satish Kumar, SEI authorised lead assessor from QAI India, said, “rough this CBA-IPI assessment, CrimsonLogic India Pvt Ltd has demonstrated its ability to adopt world class processes by attaining the highest maturity. The orgainsation's ability to meet stiff deadlines, their dedication for high quality deliverables and excellent customer service standard is testimony to this success".
