SINGAPORE, September 12, 2003 - In an increasingly connected world where technology is taken for granted in most corporations, there are the others who hope to improve their communications channels to better serve the less fortunate in the society.
CrimsonLogic, a leading IT Service Provider, has donated $20,000 in human resource (HR) and administrative solutions , PCs and IT training to Kwong Wai Shui Hospital and Nursing Home.
The HR and administrative solutions are made up of three modules namely Payroll, Claims and Leave. These managed pay-per-use applications streamline and automate business-to-employee processes, cutting away unnecessary paperwork and increases productivity in the office without having to incur heavy investments in IT hardware or software.
The company's staff has also pooled together $2,300 worth of gifts for the elderly. This donation will be made in conjunction with the SiTF (Singapore Infocomm Technology Foundation) Volunteer Day on 13 th September 2003 . CrimsonLogic staff will also volunteer their time at the Hospital and Nursing Home on SiTF Volunteer Day.
Held in conjunction with President's Challenge 2003, the IT community in Singapore hopes to join forces in an industry-wide effort to impact the community through social consciousness on SiTF Volunteer Day. Close to 1,000 participants are expected to visit 30 volunteer hosting organisations (VHOs) on that day.
Ms Soon Gek Keow, spokesperson of Kwong Wai Shui Hospital and Nursing Home, said, " We are very happy to have CrimsonLogic as our partner in volunteerism. These young people not only talk about "giving and sharing" they actually work at it. It is wonderful of them to spend time with us; their visits have not only brought cheer to our patients, but also our staff as well!"
We sincerely wish that our efforts can bring some cheer to the elderly. In these dismal times, we should remember the helpless and needy, especially the elderly who need our help and support," said Mr. Mathivanan, CEO of CrimsonLogic. "At CrimsonLogic, we believe in cultivating a spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility, and we give back whatever our means allow to the less fortunate.
