Singapore, 13 February 2003 – CrimsonLogic has obtained the prestigious PSB BS7799 Certification, affirming the company's ability to provide secure and quality service to its customers. The scope of the certification covers CrimsonLogic's entire staff strength of 500 spread over four different sites in Singapore. RadianTrust, an end-to-end IT security service provider and a wholly-owned subsidiary of CrimsonLogic, was engaged to conduct this extensive nine-month long exercise encompassing people, processes and information technology (IT) systems.
The most widely recognised security standard in the world, BS7799 is a British standard that provides guidelines for safeguarding an organisation's information security assets. A BS7799 framework allows the organisation to have increased assurance of its security practices, and provides an effective means of communicating security requirements across different levels and different departments within the organisation.
“Information security is one of the most important factors for Application Service Providers (ASPs). We view the BS7799 certification as one of the factors that reinforces our leadership position as Singapore's most successful ASP. It underscores our dedication to provide quality and security services to our customers in the public and private sectors,” said Mr V Mathivanan, Chief Executive Officer of CrimsonLogic.
CrimsonLogic selected RadianTrust to define its security policies, conduct extensive risk analysis exercises, and implement security controls. The security company also helped to set up a comprehensive Information Security Management System and manage the BS7799 audit and certification process for CrimsonLogic.
Said Mr Mathivanan, “We chose RadianTrust to conduct this process because of the high level of competence the team has in the field of information security and risk management.”
With BS7799 fast becoming a security benchmark across all industries and business sectors, RadianTrust's new service offering for BS7799 can help organisations gain the security certification through proven methodologies.
“Information security management as part of an overall risk management process will become increasingly important. Only a security management system integrated with a company's organisational structure and quality management system can provide a consistent level of security in a rapidly changing IT world. It also enables an organisation to react quickly to new vulnerabilities,” said Mr Chuang Shyne Song, General Manager of RadianTrust.
“In addition, BS7799 certification can act as a valuable tool in differentiating an organisation from its competitors. BS7799 certification signals an uncommonly strong commitment to security, and in the case of CrimsonLogic, a superior level of protection for customer information and privacy,” said Song.
By gaining BS7799 certification, CrimsonLogic's customers can now benefit from an ASP that has:
1. A formal risk assessment process to understand the potential risks to a business, the value of data, software and hardware assets and therefore the cost implications of poor security practices.
2. A balanced approach to technical, process and contractual priorities and obligations such as firewalls, password management and provision of business continuity.
3. A structured approach to business continuity and information security management.
CrimsonLogic completed the BS7799 certification following an intensive security audit conducted by PSB Certification.
