Solutions provider to offer ebXML consultancy services for companies wanting a more robust, secure, lower cost platform for e-business
SINGAPORE, 27 May 2004 - CrimsonLogic Pte Ltd today announced it has completed Singapore's first successful test implementation of the ebXML (Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup Language) Message Service. The company received an interoperability certificate from the ebXML Asia Committee for this project.
ebXML provides companies with a standard method to exchange business messages, conduct trading relationships, communicate data in common terms and define and register business processes. Building on the experience of EDI (electronic data exchange), ebXML enables more robust, secure, lower cost electronic business transactions internationally.
CrimsonLogic CEO, Mr Mathivanan said, “We believe ebXML is the way forward. The specifications are developed to help organisations interface with others within and outside their industry, open up new markets with less effort than before and simultaneously cut costs and simplify processes associated with traditional document exchange.”
CrimsonLogic will also offer consultancy services to customers who wish to deploy an ebXML platform. Customers in health, legal, trade, logistics and the government are expected to move towards ebXML over the next few years.
The ebXML Message Service specification provides security and reliability features that are not available in current email protocols but necessary to support international electronic business. The ebXML Message Service is structured to allow for messaging reliability, persistence, security, and extensibility. It provides a standard, secure yet low-cost method for exchanging business messages among ebXML trading partners.
Members of the Pan-Asian e-Commerce Alliance (PAA), of which CrimsonLogic is a member, have begun using ebXML Message Service as their messaging protocol. Major industry players like Fujitsu, NEC, Hitachi and Samsung have embarked on ebXML for e-business. ebXML is also fast becoming the e-business infrastructure between growing numbers of auto manufacturers and dealers in the USA and Canada.
CrimsonLogic is the only Singapore company among twelve across Asia Pacific to receive the ebXML interoperability certification from the ebXML Asia Committee. The successful testing of this system means participating compliant companies from Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong SAR, China able to exchange business messages on the same platform.
CrimsonLogic is currently testing other modules in the suite of ebXML OASIS standards which recently received International Standards Organisation technical specification ISO/TS 15000 approval – the ebXML Collaborative Partner Profile Agreement, ebXML Registry Information Model and ebXML Registry Services Specification.
ebXML is the work of UN/CEFACT, the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business and OASIS, the international consortium that designs and develops industry-standard specifications based on XML.
