CrimsonLogic streamlines processes and creates better connectivity with shippers, freight forwarders and carriers
Holmes Maritime Inc., is a privately owned Canadian company headquartered in Nova Scotia providing port agency and logistics services to International ship owners, throughout eastern Canada and along the Great Lakes. Its core business includes the responsibility and arrangement of pilotage, tugs or anchorage, dockings, hull, machinery and cargo surveys, provisions and supplies, repairs, vessel representations, as well as crew entry and exits through immigration Canada.
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) enacted Advanced Commercial Information (ACI), a new reporting rules for port agents to submit as many cargo details as possible before the cargo goes aboard the ship. CBSA is the arm of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada.
CBSA requires the description of the cargo to be precise and up to speed, or it will risk being turned away. The list of description of the cargo would have to include details like the full name, address of shipper, the full name and address of the receiving party, what terminal it’s loading at, what time the cargo’s going onto the vessel, what date it’s loading on and how much it weighs.
CrimsonLogic TradePalette’s one-stop integrated ACI system enables users to create ACI cross-border trade declarations for document generation and submission. It is easy and quick to implement and improves customer service with its seamless connection.
"I could have built our own system, but the massive task would be too strenuous on the staff."
Said, Lou Holmes, Holmes Maritime’s president.
CrimsonLogic’s ACI system streamlines Holmes Maritime’s data management processes. Now the company and other port agents that choose the CrimsonLogic platform can handle more clients than they could before. It has increased business for them.
