SINGAPORE, 17 March 2010 – CrimsonLogic, a leading provider of eGovernment solutions and services headquartered in Singapore, has successfully secured a series of government projects in the Central America over recent years, and is expanding its business further into new markets including Mexico, Peru, Colombia and the Caribbean region.
“CrimsonLogic has evolved over the past twenty years from a Singapore company to a multinational organization with presence in more than twenty countries,” said Leong Peng Kiong, CEO, CrimsonLogic. “To drive our next stage of international growth, we aim to further expand our business in markets such as Mexico, Peru and Colombia, as well as the Caribbean region in 2010 by leveraging on our track record and expertise in eGovernment projects that transform the way governments provide services to businesses and citizens.”
CrimsonLogic’s flagship project in the region was with the Panama Canal Authority. In 2003, the company was awarded, through an international tender, a project to design and develop the Canal’s Advanced Data Collection System. Today, CrimsonLogic continues to maintain the system for the Panama Canal Authority.
In 2007, CrimsonLogic was awarded a project by the Colon Free Zone (CFZ) Administration in Panama to build an electronic documentation system to automate and streamline trade facilitation within the free trade zone (FTZ). This platform serves the FTZ eco-system comprising freight forwarders, customs brokers, importers and exporters – to enable multiple parties to file all their documentation electronically via web services to the CFZ Administration and the Panama Customs. The system went live in late 2009 and is benefiting the users through significant reduction in paper documents and administrative delays.
In 2008, the Panama Customs Administration awarded CrimsonLogic a project to build, operate and maintain an integrated customs management system (ICMS). The system will expedite customs documentation processing for importers and exporters – a process that is critical to Panama’s economy and will significantly enhance the country’s trade competitiveness. The system will go live by mid 2010.
In 2009, CrimsonLogic was tasked by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GORTT) to design, build and implement an e-government business facilitation system for the country. This project was secured on the back of a government-to-government Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the GORTT’s Ministry of Public Administration and Singapore’s Infocomm Development Authority, and facilitated by IE Singapore.
The GORTT’s business facilitation systems will serve as a ‘one-stop shop’ where private stakeholders and approving government agencies can collaborate to process the necessary permits and approvals online in a seamless and efficient manner. The system is expected to provide operational efficiency for business registration, enhance transparency of government services and accelerate the trade facilitation process.
