  Password Management

In our Feb ’06 issue, we mentioned briefly about the importance and the need for our subscribers to change their password every 3 months – to reduce your risk to unauthorised users.

We observed that a majority of our subscribers are now able to manage their password well, as we saw a drop in the number of requests for password reset in the past few months.

Some users who fail to recall your old password after the 3-month expiry period may have set your internet explorer browsers to remember it. To disable that function, you can consider the following steps:

To clear password in the AutoComplete function:
Go to Internet Explorer , “Tools” menu, select “Internet Options” and open the “Content” tab.
Click “AutoComplete” and you will be offered choices to Clear Forms and Clear Password.

Wonder why you didn’t receive tax invoices from us?

Being one of the leading IT Service Provider, CrimsonLogic has always been at the forefront of paperless solution. Like many of the business applications that our valued customers are using, we also make billing and tax services available electronically. To access our Network Billing System, just logon to https://billing.crimsonlogic.com or contact us for further assistance.

TradeNet – Having difficulty providing the correct port code, exchange rate or commodity HS code?

Providing invalid or incorrect information on your permit declaration form will not only result in your submission being rejected, it will also incur charges and unnecessary time spent in order to amend it for resubmission.

Now you may access our TN21 portal, where a list of useful information on port code, exchange rate and commodity HS code and more are available for online enquiry and downloading.

EFS - questions relating to PDF and Adobe Acrobat

We would like to share with you two commonly asked questions relating to PDF and Adobe Acrobat, and hope the information will help with your usage.

Which version of Adobe Acrobat is required for EFS?
EFS Front-End can work with Adobe® Acrobat® version 4, 5, 6 or 7 (Standard) software, although documents to be filed via EFS must be saved in Acrobat 4 (PDF 1.3) format (information correct as at July 2006).
Note: EFS systems (both at the Courts and law firms) will be upgraded to support Acrobat 7 (PDF 1.6) format in the near future. More details will be announced in due course.

Adobe Acrobat software needs to be installed in all PCs where PDF documents are to be generated/edited. The Acrobat Reader software only allows you to view the PDF documents in EFS submissions/replies.

Users of Acrobat version 6 or 7 also need to download and install the updated PDF plug-in for EFS (also known as “EFS annotation tools”). The plug-in could be downloaded at http://info.efs.com.sg/Downloads.htm

Why am I unable to print the Court Reply showing EFS annotations?
Open the PDF document using Adobe Acrobat (not the Acrobat Reader!) and select File, EFS Print with Annotation from the menu.

This feature is supported by Adobe Acrobat version 4 or above. However, if you have been using Acrobat version 4 and above and still encounter difficulties printing PDF documents with EFS annotations, please contact CrimsonLogic Call Centre.

EFS – Who can you call upon receiving rejection message?

If you require clarification upon receiving the Court's Rejection message, please contact the Court's registry. However, if you are unsure of the system rejection’s message ("Gateway Rejection"), or if you think that the submission was rejected by mistake, you may contact CrimsonLogic Call Centre for clarification.

PAT – changes on IRASLine file format

If you are IRASLine user using the ‘Upload’ function to transmit data file to IRAS via Provident and Tax System, please note that we are working with all certified payroll software vendors on the requirements to change the file format which will take effect on the next yearly transmission exercise. The exercise will take place in January 2007. Please refer to our letter dated 10 July 2006 for more details.

If your payroll vendor has not attended the seminars conducted in July (perhaps they have yet to be our certified vendor), the updated IRAS Interface File Specifications is now available for downloading from www.pat.com.sg under the ‘Resources’ link.

"I would like to say “thank you” for GREAT Customer support. Due to limited time we have to transmit and correct errors, I was panicking when I was not getting responses from CBSA. Your pleasant, cooperative and timely Customer service reps helped me calm down. It was re-assuring to talk to a person and not a recorded answering machine early in the morning."
