What is "Immediate Reset"? |
| |
Immediate Reset (or "Forgot Password" feature) is a new feature that allows users who have forgotten the SingPass to request for online reset immediately. The prerequisite for using this service is to pre-register your mobile phone number and answer two security questions.
Every user who succesfully logon with their SingPass the first time after the service cutover on 25 November 2007, will see a check box asking whether they would like to use this feature (Default answer is set as "Yes").
For those who sign up at the first logon, you will be prompted to answer two security questions and to register your mobile phone number. In the event you forget your SingPass, all you need to do is to click on the "Forgot Password" option available at the SingPass website and provide your answers to the two security questions. If the answers match the ones that you have provided during the sign-up, the system will send a security PIN to your registered mobile phone within seconds. You will then enter this one-time PIN and a security code, which you need to get from reading the characters within a small image box displayed on the screen. Once you have entered the security PIN and the security code correctly, you will be prompted to enter your preferred new SingPass.
For those who have not signed up, you can do so at the SingPass website using the "Update Profile" option, which allows you to update your mobile number and answer the security questions. |
